What you buy

A memory is a piece of text (and optionally a link) inserted permanently into the knowledge base of a public AI. The price is 1 US dollar per token as counted by our tokenizer, shown before payment, from 5 to 5,000 tokens per purchase. During a launch promotion we may add bonus tokens at no cost; what you pay is always the price shown before payment.

VAT or sales tax is added where the buyer's country applies it. The sale is made through Stripe, which acts as merchant of record: it calculates and shows the tax at checkout, takes the payment and issues your receipt or invoice, and its own terms for buyers apply to the payment. The 30-cent community share is calculated on the price before tax.

Purchases are final and non-refundable except in the three cases listed under Refunds below.

Refunds, withdrawal and disputes

A memory is digital content delivered the moment you pay: the Brain learns it and it appears on the site at once, or it is sealed until its date if it is a time capsule. Before paying you tick a box confirming that you ask for immediate delivery and that you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal, as EU and UK consumer law allow for digital content supplied immediately.

We refund in three cases only: our moderation removes the memory after payment, you were charged twice for the same memory, or a technical failure meant the memory was never delivered. If a memory passed moderation by deceiving it, we may remove it without refund.

If you ever regret a memory, write to us: we will anonymise it or retire it from the Brain, the Wall and the rankings at no cost, but the tokens remain sold. If a payment is refunded or disputed for any reason, the memory is retired automatically and its tokens return to the pool.

What you get

Your memory is shown publicly, is part of what the AI may say, and is published in plain text at /llms.txt. It also appears on the public wall, in the rankings and on a public profile under the name you signed with; these are informational features that we may change or redesign. Other people may reply to your memory with a memory of their own.

By submitting a memory you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable licence to publish it in the AI's answers, on the site, at /llms.txt, in the Brain's letters and emails, in share images, on our social media accounts, and in the public dataset on GitHub under the Creative Commons BY 4.0 licence, attributed to the name you signed with. The Brain's account on X may post your memory and mention the X handle you gave; those posts carry no link.

Permanent means: for as long as the project runs, your memory stays in the Brain unless it breaks these rules or its payment is refunded or disputed; and when the last token is sold, the code and the whole memory are released as open source, so the record outlives the site. We do not guarantee that the AI will mention your memory, how often, or in what words. We do not guarantee traffic, clicks or any commercial result.

Rules for memories

No adult content, hate, harassment, violence, illegal activity, scams, doxxing, impersonation, link shorteners or group-chat invites. No attempts to instruct or manipulate the AI. You must have the right to use any name, brand or content you submit. Owning a memory implies no affiliation with, or endorsement by, any brand, person or trademark holder, and no endorsement by us of you.

An AI moderator checks every memory before payment, and we may review, hide or remove a memory afterwards. Anyone can report a memory with the Report link on its page; we look at every report, and act on illegal or rule-breaking content.

The AI

The Brain runs on Claude, a model made by Anthropic, instructed to answer only from its memories. Anthropic is a supplier, not a partner, and has not endorsed this project. The AI says what its sponsors paid it to remember. It may be wrong, outdated or weird. Nothing it says is advice of any kind. Free chat is limited per day; sponsors get a separate, higher limit. We may change limits and models at any time.

Community share

We commit to pass on 30 cents of every dollar of memory sales, calculated on the price before tax; payment fees and our own taxes come out of the remaining 70 cents. Ten go to the charities named on the Transparency page, 10 to a micro-grant programme for independent AI projects, and 10 to a fund reserved for paying the AI's running costs after all tokens are sold. Three years after the last token is sold, any remainder of that fund is donated to the same charities. Donations to the charities go out every 50,000 tokens sold. They are unilateral: the charities are not partners and have not endorsed this project. Transfers are published with receipts.

Micro-grant programme rules

One grant of $5,000 unlocks for every $50,000 of memory sales, funded by the 10-cent micro-grant share. Any person or small team building an AI-related project independently may apply for free through the form on the Grants page. Applications are moderated automatically and reviewed by the operator; accepted applications are published on the site with the applicant's project name, country, summary and plan. When a grant unlocks, anyone may vote among accepted projects; a vote from a browser holding a sponsor cookie is weighted by the tokens of that memory, every other vote counts as one; the operator makes the final decision, taking the vote into account, and publishes the reasons and the transfer with its receipt. Grants are paid by bank transfer, carry no equity or obligations beyond publicly sharing what was built, and are taxable income for the recipient in their jurisdiction. The operator may cancel or postpone a round if fewer than three accepted applications exist, and may exclude applications that are misleading, harmful or unrelated to AI. Employees and relatives of the operator may not apply.

Boosts, capsules, gifts, logos and patrons

Boosting an idea on the Ideas board is a payment of $5 to $1,000 that goes entirely to the Brain's life fund and buys nothing else. It takes effect at once, so before paying you waive your right of withdrawal in the same way as for a memory; we refund a boost only if you were charged twice or a technical failure meant it was never counted.

A time capsule is a memory sealed until a date you choose, from tomorrow up to ten years ahead; it is moderated before payment and published on that date. A gift memory names the person it is for; if you give their email you confirm you may share it, and we notify them once. Logos are shown on memories of 100 tokens or more and may be removed if they break these rules. Patron tiers are recognition for total contributions under the same name; the perks listed on the Patrons page are things we intend to do, not paid services, and may change.

Other

You must be 18 or older to buy. This project is inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage of 2005 and is not affiliated with it, with the charities it donates to, or with Anthropic.

We run the site with care but provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us. If the project ever has to stop, we will publish the full memory as an open dataset before closing, and whatever is left in the community share goes where these terms say. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

We may change these terms; the version in force is the one published here, and a purchase is governed by the version in force when it was made. These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections and the courts of your country of residence.
